Last week on my Instagram stories, I asked writers which of the following were they struggling with most right now:
- Mindset
- Craft
- Time
The Results are in: Craft received the most votes, followed closely by Time and Mindset, which nearly tied.
If you’re like me, writer, then you probably struggle with all three at some point. It just depends on the week, day, or minute I ask the question, right?
The worst, however, is when you struggle with all three at the same time – you’re stuck on a craft issue, think you can’t get past it, and worse, don’t feel like you have the time to research and learn about the topic to solve the problem.
It’s the Bermuda Triangle of writing struggle where manuscripts go to die.
Which is what I want to help you avoid!
I’m creating some new workshops for the summer. I want to address craft issues with writers, but in a wholistic way, by also providing actionable mindset tips and time hacks for these craft problems. Ignoring the time crunch or necessary mindset needed when it comes to learning craft, leaves writers more knowledgeable but maybe not empowered to implement this new information in real-world settings (like drafting in parking lots while waiting for kids to finish soccer practice…just me?).
An empowered writer is an effective writer!
